Anna Hogan, Associate Professor

Queensland University of Technology

Associate Professor Anna Hogan is an education researcher at Queensland University of Technology whose research focuses on education policy, marketisation and the changing nature of teachers’ work. Anna currently leads an Australian Research Council Discovery Project, 'Curriculum, Resources and Teachers’ Work', investigating how commercial technologies are reshaping teachers’ curriculum work. She is also a CI on the ARC Linkage Project Teaching and Time Poverty, which examines the organisational and systemic conditions shaping teachers’ workload, work intensification and experiences of time poverty. Across these projects, her research challenges individualised understandings of teacher workload, highlighting how expanding responsibilities, fragmented working time and competing policy demands shape teachers’ everyday labour. Her recent books include Teaching and Time Poverty (2024) and Commercialising Public Schooling: Practices of Profit-Making (2025).
