Zubeyde Genc is a doctoral researcher in the School of Education at the University of Nottingham and a teacher-researcher at the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, where she serves on the commission monitoring and evaluating the national early childhood education curriculum. She is also an adviser to the Violence Prevention Education in Schools Project, run in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation. Her doctoral research explores how school policies and practitioners' beliefs shape outdoor play practices in early childhood education, drawing on case studies of three primary schools in England. Her research interests include outdoor play and learning, curriculum studies, educational policy and values education in early childhood.
