Weiyuan Wu is a lecturer at Educational Research in the School of Social Sciences, Lancaster University. His research focuses on schooling and social justice, particularly in relation to gender, sexuality and other marginalised identities. Drawing on sociological and cultural approaches, his work examines how schools reproduce and reinforce inequalities, as well as how they can challenge and transform them. Through the case of Chinese schooling, Weiyuan’s recent work brings Confucianism into dialogue with Queer Theory to explore LGBTQ+ identities, subjectivities, agency, resistance and leadership in educational contexts.
